Our
Basic idea
When a child has to stay in the hospital, parents want one thing above all: to be close to their child. However, finding affordable accommodation near the University Hospital Bonn can quickly become a problem, especially for longer hospital stays. Health insurance reimbursement for an accompanying person is limited to €45 per day, and correspondingly affordable accommodation near the hospital is difficult to find.
We are convinced:
Regardless of their financial means, parents should have the opportunity to support their child during this difficult time.
Our
measure
Haus Annaberg plans to renovate five existing small rooms and furnish them to provide parents of sick children with a quiet and safe retreat. The rooms will be offered starting at €25 per day. A common room with a lovely balcony is also planned, including play areas for siblings. Major construction work is not necessary – much of the work can be done ourselves with the help of volunteers.

What is needed most are good beds and mattresses, bedside tables, lamps, curtains, picture frames, family-friendly furnishings and renovation materials.
Our
Possibilities
The university hospital can be reached by bicycle in about ten minutes via a forest path. We provide bicycles to families free of charge. At the same time, Haus Annaberg, nestled in nature, offers a place where parents can find peace and recharge after a stressful day. If desired, they can also receive pastoral care from a retired priest or have a personal conversation with a designated volunteer coordinator.
Our goal
Our goal is simple: With five small rooms, we want to enable many parents to be where they are most needed during a difficult time – close to their child.
